Installing Rustic Porch Railings

Handmade Rustic Porch Railings

The installation of rustic porch railings on your porch can serve two purposes. First, and perhaps most importantly, it is an important safety feature that can prevent people from falling off the porch and being hurt. A railing can also provide a decorative element for the porch, framing the front of the house. The type of railing to install depends on how the porch is built. If the porch is made of concrete, iron railings can work better. If the porch is made of wood, a wooden railing is probably your best option.

Then, keep the handrails along the edge of the porch where you want to install them, with the help of an assistant. Also mark the location of the screw holes in the base of the rustic porch railings. Remove the handrails. And then, drill pilot holes in the concrete with a masonry drill in the marked locations. Loosen the screws of the sleeve anchors. Slide the sleeve anchors into the holes in the porch. Press the down arrow on the sleeve anchors gently with a hammer if they are stuck.

Place the handrails in position on the porch, and screw the screws into the sleeve anchors. When doing this, do not over tighten the screws, as it could break the sleeve anchors. Measure the distance between the posts on the porch to determine the length of each section of rustic porch railings.
